Apartment building design
As part of my Building Information Modeling (BIM) course, I utilized Revit to design a code-compliant apartment building in Minneapolis, incorporating building regulations, accessibility standards, and material specifications to create a functional and efficient residential development. The design process required a thorough understanding of zoning codes, building area limitations, and ADA accessibility requirements, ensuring that the project adhered to industry standards.
The apartment building features a diverse mix of residential units and an amenity space on the first floor, designed to enhance the living experience for residents. This shared space fosters community interaction and provides essential services, contributing to a well-rounded urban living environment.
In addition to technical modeling, Enscape was used for rendering, allowing for realistic visualizations of the design, materiality, and lighting conditions. This project further refined my BIM workflow, reinforcing the importance of integrating regulatory compliance, spatial efficiency, and aesthetic considerations in multifamily housing design.
